MountainZone.com editorial pages
This is a collection of sites I designed at MountainZone.com between late 1999 and late 2000, when I held the position of Climbing Editor and before the Quokka "unidesign" took hold. The sites featured a then-standard 468x60 ad banner and MZ's klunky universal navigation bar, both of which are now gone. Massive ads and even chunkier, clunkier navigation have taken their place, leaving the sites looking very ... odd.
- Mountain Bike Training Tips: A small selection of tips for the two-wheel crowd. One of my favorite designs and the last before the Quokkafication.

- Antarctica Ski and Snowboard Expedition 1999: An expedition to ski Mount Vinson, featuring skier Doug Coombs and snowboarder Stephen Koch.

- Mountain Bike World Cup 2000: Another one of my favorites. I was really into curves and circles at that point.

- Forbidden Towers: Brady Robinson, Dave Anderson, Steph Davis and Jimmy Chin venture into the unknown. This one was very popular.

- Freeski Tour 2000: My grungiest site. A few of my co-workers were skeptical, but the core audience loved it.

- Antarctic Peninsula Ski and Snowboard Expedition 2000: Ski-mountaineering on the Antarctic Peninsula, the staging point be an old Russian icebreaker.

- Westbeach Snowboard Classic: The only site I did for the snowboarding section. Wish I'd had the chance to do more.

- Phoenix Bouldering Contest: Soup to nuts, this one was all me: design and field reporting, shooting film stills, digi stills, and video. And I was sick as a dog.

- Highpoints Climbing News: An attempt to have regular climbing news on MZ. It was just starting to catch on when Quokka laid us off.

- Raid Gauloises 2000: Oh, those crazy adventure racers. Many of the events are over-hyped, but the Raid certainly isn't.
